Ingredients and spices you will need to make Chocolate Sponge Cake:
- For chocolate crepes
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- sugar 3 tablespoons
- salt 1/2 teaspoon
- 4 eggs at room temperature
- 1.5 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- vanilla essence 2 teaspoons
- For the buttercream frosting
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2.5 tablespoons of milk
- vanilla essence 1 teaspoon
- A pinch of salt
Steps to make chocolate crepe cake
- Sift the flour and unsweetened cocoa into a bowl. Add sugar and salt. Mix well and store.
- Put the eggs in another bowl and beat for a minute or two. Then add milk, melted butter and vanilla. Continue stirring for 2 minutes.
- Add flour mixture to egg mixture and mix until smooth. Avoid overmixing.
- Heat a small pan over medium-high heat. Grease with melted butter and pour the batter shell into the pan. Spin fast.
- Let it cook for a few minutes, then turn it over and cook the other side as well. Each crepe takes between 1 and 2 minutes to cook. Remove the crepe from the pan and place on a plate to cool. Repeat the same process for the remaining crepes. You will get 10 to 12 chocolate crepes. Let them cool down.
- To prepare the buttercream frosting, take a medium bowl. Add the butter and stir until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then add the powdered sugar one tablespoon at a time and beat on low speed. Once all the sugar is added, add the milk, vanilla flavoring and salt. Shake for a few minutes and then set aside.
- To make a chocolate crepe cake, place the crepe on a serving platter. Spread a generous layer of buttercream on top.
- Then add another crepe and apply another layer of buttercream frosting. Repeat until all crepes are used up.
- To create a cookware logo, draw it on a piece of parchment paper, cut it out, and place it on top.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar or powdered sugar on top. Then carefully remove the paper.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container until ready to serve. Just remember one thing, add powdered sugar just before serving.
